Lunar Flight is a game, where you are given an opportunity to experience the space from the cargo lifter point of view.
As this game is a simulation, everything in this game tries to be as real to real life as possible. Apart from transporting the cargo from point A to point B, you will be able to search for lost cargo, and acquire some data from certain locations.
This game can be used with Xbox controller, which creates this weird sensation, because the pilot that sits in the cockpit, holds the exact same controller in his hands. The cockpit itself has a variety of different UI options, and information of which you have to be aware of. When flying to the destination point, fuel reserves must be on your mind, as it can deplete quite quickly if flying recklessly.
In addition to this, you have some cameras that you can check for your comfort. As the window before you can be a bit blocked with stuff, the rear view and the 3rd person view on these cameras can help you tremendously. If you wish to change the perspective you can do so by selecting a desired view in the navigation menu.
Game really tries to be extremely realistic. You can hear a radio talking in the background, though nothing useful is coming out of it. You can also see some smoke coming out of the pipes in front of you when you are trying to slow down. If the flight machine is not slowed down, it can be become quite a huge roller coaster for you, as everything starts to spin around, and getting the control of your vehicle after that is not as easy as you think.
Oculus Rift support was on the wishlist for the developers for quite some time, and it got integrated on Nov. 2013. DK2 support came a year later, in Oct. 2014.
Lunar Flight reviews were excellent. The immersion it gives you because of the details (and sitting in the cockpit) is really extraordinary. Good full review of this game can be read from virtualrealityreviewer.
