Trackmania 2 has been around for quite some time now, but the Oculus Rift support has been added only recently. To set it up, all you have to do is set your DK2 to extended mode, and when you are in the main menu of Trackmania 2, press SHIFT – F11.
Trackmania 2 is a fun racing game that is really simple to learn, but very hard to master. It usually has very short tracks that you can finish in 30 seconds, but getting to the finish line is not the hard part. You can restart the race as many times as you want, but you have to save the best lap time before the time runs out. That means that every turn has to be absolutely perfectly executed in order to win the race.
It is very mesmerizing to play this game, as well as watch it on Youtube. Trackmania 2 is very fast-paced, and luckily it does not create nausea for the Oculus Rift users. It is a very fun game to play, and gives you everything that a good racing game needs.
For those who wish to let their imagination go loose, can make and create their own custom tracks, and then let other people rate and race in it.
Only negative side to this game for the Oculus Rift players is that you can’t read some of the text on the main menu since it is very small. Still, it has been an issue for many Virtual Reality games, so Trackmania 2 is not the only one struggling with it.
